Final four fixtures of my 2nd season in FIFA 08 Manager Mode with Celtic. I am neck and neck with my rivals Rangers heading into the final straight, we play each other in the final fixture of the season. Rangers are also my Scottish Cup Final opponents, a definite case of winner takes all.
League Fixtures

A match in which I totally dominated, but not for the first time in this manager mode, I couldn’t put the ball into the net.

I went into the final match of the season, strangely 3 points clear of Rangers. I don’t take any notice of league tables at the start of games, I did prior to the Rangers fixture. Avoiding defeat would bring me the league title.
Rangers scored on 45 minutes, I levelled straight from kick off by JVOH on 45+2 minutes into 1st half injury time. I changed from my tentative possession game in the 1st half, and went all out attack, they say attack is the best form of defense. It paid off, I dominated the 2nd half, and scored the vital goal by Scott McDonald.

I have won my first league title in Manager Mode. It was a sort of anti climax, as it’s neither mentioned by the commentators or any player celebrations whatsoever. I do hope they rectify this in FIFA 09.
I mentioned recently that I am feeling a little stale playing the SPL programme, I am 90% certain that I will be searching a new managerial post at the end of the season.

I think the decision of taking up a new challenge affected me in this game, my concentration levels were low. It was a scrappy game, Rangers took the lead just before half-time, I levelled just after half-time through JVOH. Rangers grabbed the winner on 90 minutes, there was no time for recovery.

The domestic double has gone, I am happy with the league title. The decision after this game was not to renew my contract with Celtic. I am seeking a new challenge, I will managing in a new league. But with who? That’s the decision I have to make, the choice of 2 clubs.
Very unfortunate on the Cup Final - with your new club you’ll have to start all over again, though, and miss out on going for the Treble/Quadruple? Unless you manage to get in at a club already qualified for the Champs League?
I’m kind of struggling with World Class at the moment - tomorrow’s post will reveal all. Found any new FIFA09 news? I heard that the game seen in that Svenska fan video thing was actually UEFA2008.

The Cup Final, as we say in Scotland, I played like a “coo”. Cest la Vie.
Have faith mate, I absolutely love FIFA, Manager Mode lasts 15 seasons, I can categorically say that I will complete the 15 seasons before the arrival of FIFA 09. Especially when I return to work, I will have even more time to play.
I have wrote Part 2 of my FIFA progression and thoughts which I will post maybe tomorrow or Monday. I might surprise you by saying, that I can see FIFA being my main football title in the future. I will stay play PES, and hopefully it will be up to scratch this year. FIFA is giving me hours and hours of pleasure, and I am getting to grips with it.
I will give you a hint on my new team.
I am a massive fan of their most famous fan’s music, I have seen them live 13 times. Seen them live at my new teams stadium/s.
World Class, you will be interested in my difficulty settings, I have opted for with my new club. I think it brings real realism to my manager mode career.
If FIFA 09 builds on EURO 2008, it will be a great title. I really can’t wait for 09.
